A product may sell well locally and still need preparation before it is ready for international wholesale. Export readiness means that a buyer can understand the offer, compare it with alternatives, calculate costs, and trust that the supplier can deliver consistently. The checklist below helps Armenian companies identify the most important gaps.
Confirm product and market requirements
Choose the destination market before finalizing labels or documents. Requirements can vary by product, country, and sales channel. Confirm applicable standards, ingredients or material disclosures, shelf-life rules, testing, certifications, and import restrictions with qualified specialists and the buyer. Avoid promising compliance until it has been verified.
Prepare complete commercial information
Create a clear specification for every product: dimensions or volume, materials or ingredients, variants, packaging units, carton size, gross and net weight, shelf life where relevant, and storage conditions. Add wholesale price terms, minimum order quantity, production capacity, sample policy, payment expectations, and quotation validity.
Test packaging and logistics
Export packaging must protect the product through handling, stacking, temperature changes, and a longer transport journey. Confirm pallet configuration, carton markings, barcode needs, and available shipping methods. Calculate realistic lead times that include production, quality checks, documentation, and dispatch—not only manufacturing time.
Build a reliable document process
Assign responsibility for quotations, invoices, packing lists, certificates, customs information, and buyer requests. Keep approved templates and version-controlled product data. Exact documents depend on the product and destination, so confirm each shipment with your customs broker, logistics provider, and buyer.
Run a buyer-readiness review
Ask a colleague to evaluate the offer as if they were a foreign buyer. Can they understand the product without calling you? Are prices and units unambiguous? Do photos match the current packaging? Can your team answer in English within one business day? Fixing these issues before outreach protects your reputation.
